Jahmil Lacey, MSc received his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and a graduate degree in Social Policy from the London School of Economics. Throughout his career, Jahmil has demonstrated a passion for alleviating the root causes of health disparities as demonstrated by his past experiences in K-12 education, economic development, policy, advocacy, community organizing, and youth engagement. A native of Oakland, he served as Director of a housing program for young men with chronic mental health challenges and managed the school-based health clinic at James Logan High School —the largest public high school in the Bay Area. He has published research on the intersection of mental health and HIV treatment adherence among Black and Latino young men in South Los Angeles; and contributed to a study on prostate cancer disparities among African American men in the Bay Area. Jahmil will begin as a medical student in the Drew/UCLA Medical Education Program in July 2020.

Branden Turner, MD completed his undergraduate studies in Integrative Biology with a minor in African American studies at UC Berkeley. Returning back to his hometown of South Central Los Angeles, he attended medical school at Keck School of Medicine at USC and went on to residency at Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles medical center. He received training in family medicine and completed a fellowship in sports medicine. A father of two, Branden’s role as Chief Medical Advisor of TRAP Medicine focuses on health education training for barbers, strategic partnerships, patient advocacy, and community outreach.

Italo M. Brown, MD MPH (Morehouse College '06, Boston University '08, Meharry Medical College '15) is an Emergency Medicine physician and Clinical Instructor in Social Emergency Medicine at Stanford University Hospital. He is a former board member of the Tennessee Health Care Campaign, an organization that spearheads statewide advocacy efforts in support of the Affordable Care Act and Medicare/Medicaid Reform. Italo trained at Jacobi Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center, two Bronx Hospitals ranked among the top 20 busiest ERs in the country. In 2017, the National Minority Quality Forum named Italo among the 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health. An avid writer, Italo served with the ABC News Medical Unit, and has contributed health & wellness pieces to The Root and Medium. He also nurtures a passion for pipeline development, working as a mentor with Tour for Diversity in Medicine. His latest role as Chief Impact Advisor of TRAP Medicine focuses on public health impact, strategic partnerships, community outreach, and advocacy.

Edwin Kulubya, MD MBA is a native of Los Angeles and a 4th year Neurological Surgery resident at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA. He is a graduate of Columbia University and earned a joint MD/MBA degree from the USC Keck School of Medicine and Marshall School of Business. Edwin’s role as Chief Strategy Advisor focuses on growth, strategic partnerships, and advocacy.
